INGREDIENTS
For the Buttery Biscuits:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter (cubed)
¾–1 cup cold buttermilk
For the Sausage Gravy:
1 lb breakfast sausage
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2½ cups whole milk
½ teaspoon black pepper (or more to taste)
¼ teaspoon salt (adjust as needed)
Pinch of crushed red pepper (optional)
